Issuer closing credit cards

There is a thread in a different subforum,   http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-in-the-News/Why-your-credit-card-was-closed/td-p/2557783 , that references this article http://money.msn.com/credit-cards/why-your-credit-card-was-closed.    Most interesting is some of the criteria used to evaluate:

The bank said Dieffenbach didn't score enough points in its system for evaluating accounts. Among the criteria the bank based his scored on were, "payments this month as a percentage of the amount due for last month, maximum balance as a percentage of credit limit in the last three cycles, length of time the account has been opened and total cash balance as a percentage of total balances in the latest three cycles."

Mods: Meant to post in credit card forum!

Re: Issuer closing credit cards

I didn't know USAA had closed and reopened my MC card twice until I checked my CRs. I have the card since 1998 and have been actively using it till today. I kept forgetting to ask USAA why they closed my account twice secretly without affecting me in real life (same APR, same limit, no transaction interruption), weird.
