I just got a chase card, and when I go to the CLI section, it says "see offers" and when I click on it, it shows whether I have an offer for a CLI or not.
even when I go to the my profile section and hit "request CLI" it still brings me back to the same page and says "no offers at this time". So it appears I cannot request a CLI unless I have an offer for one? Or at least not yet? Maybe cause my account is so new?
but all my other cards allow you to request a CLi whenever you want
Chase is 6 month minimum between CLIs
"No offers available" simply means "CLI denied"

So does the 6 month rule also extend to asking for a credit limit increase? Like you can only ask for an increase once every 6 months regardless of whether or not you got approved for one?
Im asking becaused I didnt receive a credit limit increase, I was just playing around seeing if i could request one and it wouldnt let me. they have never given me an increase before.

Your Chase card is brand new and not even reported on your reports yet. You have no chance of getting a CLI at this time whether or not Chase allowed you to ask for an increase. Check the link every month or 3 until it lets you ask for an increase. And understand you can still be denied.
Your Capital One is brand new and not even reported on your reports yet. You have no chance of getting a CLI regardless that they allow you to request one.
For the majority of people, it's every 6 months after approval of the last CLI. However, they don't restrict CLIs to 6 months if the relationship warrants it. If they like your profile (clean history and not adding too many new accounts), spend, and payment habits (PIF) they can be very generous with Auto CLIs or granting requests as often as every 4 months (I've recieved several at this interval). There's been a few people here with timelines less than that, but those are outliers.
If you want to get favorable results from Chase outside the norms, put healthy spend on the card, (60% to 70% of CL) and then PIF before statement cuts, rinse and repeat. Keep the adding of new accounts low as they've been known to deny CLIs based on "too many new accounts" YEMV.

Gotcha, I was more just playing around and noticed that it wouldn't even let me request one which I found weird. I wasn't going to actually request it, I was more just wondering why it wouldn't let me. Most companies will let you request a CLi whenever you want and just deny you if you aren't eligible, but I have never seen it say " check credit offers" and then proceed to tell me I have no offers. That sounds more like an auto CLI rather than me requesting an increase, which is fine. Cause like I said I wasn't going to ask for one anyways. I just figured it was because the account was new but I wasn't sure so I was wondering if anyone else knew more about this.
thanks!
