JC Penney

Has anyone applied for a JCP card lately?  If so, what CRA report did they pull?

Re: JC Penney

Thanks for this info!

My EQ is 526 so I think I'll wait a few months before applying.  Hopefully by that time a good bit of the baddies will be gone.

Re: JC Penney

I'm in the South too (SC).  So, they'll probably pull the TU.  I have a 568 with TU per TrueCredit so the true FICO is probably a little higher.

Thanks again.

Re: JC Penney

I applied for the Jcpenney card around 8 months ago. At the time I was approved for 150$. After the six month period of perfect payment history they gave me a CLI of 1500.
My TU score was around 560. So far they have been good to me. Both Penneys and GEMB.

Good luck

Re: JC Penney

Kartel34,
how much did you utilize of the $150? did you max it out and then pay it off over the 6 months or did you buy something small every month and pay it off before the due date?

Re: JC Penney

I made small purchases. Around 20 -30$. Then I pay it off within two weeks. This way I don't get hit with the finance charges. Also Jcpenneys loves sending out coupons. For example , 10$ off with min of 10 $ purchase. So the item ends up being freeSmiley Wink I guess its their way to entice you to use the card.
