Another way to beat the system. Is purchase a small item ( pair of socks,etc ).

Wait for the charge to hit the account , pay the bill then return the item. This way you establish a payment history and you will end up with a store credit  . But dont loose the receipt ! Most stores give you a 30 grace period on returns. So thats plenty of time for the charge to show up.

That sounds risky to me.  They keep track of all this information...  They might label you as a "bad customer."

Wasn't there just an article on myfico about stores dropping "difficult customers," etc?
