I just logged into my JCP account to check if my statement was going to post on the 12th or the 13th of this month; it looks like it should be the 13th for months with 31 days. I was eager, as this will be my fourth statement, and I was planning on hitting the LUV button after it cut. Then I noticed... they just gave me an auto CLI, from $200 -> $1500!!!! Even though the statement hasn't cut yet!!!
Jumping up and down!!!!!
Awesome! Congrats - that is one heck of a CLI!!!!!!!!

Thanks! I am so pleased! When I first got the card, I was happy to be approved, but disappointed at the starting CL. But, I considered this to be a "seed" that I planted in my credit garden, and I was hoping that it would grow. This makes me all the happier that I decided to app for the card earlier this year. I'm looking forward to seeing the increase show up on my reports... much more gratifying to see an account listed with a 1500 CL than one with 200. Still, I'm rebuilding, and I had to start somewhere.
Great News! Congrats! I couldn't believe it when they approved me at the store instantly years ago. Then they upped me to 1000 and I didn't even know it. They're pretty good with CLI's in my experience. They are also faithful reporters, which is what counts, right?
EDITED:
I just checked and my last statements were 4/18, 5/19, 6/17. So I can't even guess when the next statement will be. I will guess our statements are the same day, though, right? I'm excited for this to post a zero for the first time since 2007.

My statements have been on the 12th or 13th. So, close to the same date, but not quite.
Congrats on the upcoming zero bal -- good for you! I've been paying things off for the last year, and it's been exciting to see zero balances posting. Getting out of debt feels great!
I had a JCP card long ago. I decided to app for another one and was approved for a GIANT $250 CL! LOL!!!
It amazes me how the card companies work.
But we do shop there from time to time, so I will run some business through it and see if it grows.
By the way, they pulled TU on me, same as PayPal Smart Connect. GEMB seems to like TU.

I'm curious, so if anyone knows from experience...
The CLI was auto, and happened a couple of days before my fourth statement cuts. What happens if I hit the LUV button after the statement cuts? Will it give an additional CLI? Or will the system know that one was just given? This is generally an every fourth month thing with GEMB, right?
I've had my JCP card for a while now but my early experience was the same as yours. It started at 250 or 300 and then was auto CLI'd to 1K. I did try to hit the LUV button too soon and all it did was instantly deny with "Not enough experience at current credit line" or something to that effect. I didn't know about GEMB and every 4th statement so I ended up waiting about 6 months and tried again and got a CLI to 1800. I've been there for about 18 months and haven't requested any more CLI. I only spend less than a couple hundred every quarter or so and immediately PIF. At least every 3-6 months some activity seems to keep them from doing a CLD at my current line. Don't know what if any AA there would be with limited activity at a higher CL.

That's kind of what I thought would happen. I think that I'm not going to bother hitting the button. After all, they just gave me a very generous CLI without me even asking, one that's quite ample for my needs, and I'm quite grateful. No need to be greedy.

Yep - it does feel good. Those were school clothes from 2007 that I never paid until now!! Well I guess I paid them a hundred times over. Anyway, I asked if they would kindly report my new balance early, and the lady said she would find out and call me back. She never called back.
