Tad confused regarding the line of credit. Will I now have two accounts? I don't mind as much just don't want the store card to go away since next year will be 20 years having the card and it's my oldest account.

I originally thought it was a PC but I read somewhere that they close the account and add the MC as a new tradeline..I dont know for sure.If you find out any info about it would you let me know? Thanks! Good luck

No,@ you won't have 2 accts. The MC will be a new account, @ least that's how it was when I did it~3 yrs. ago..Like you it was an old account for me,but since accounts in good standing stay on reports 10yrs. I took the plunge.
For some it is a major thing to get the new acct. if this is a problem then I wouldn't do it....
Best wishes 2 ya !!!!

Thanks for the insight! I think in my situation I wouldd have to get a significant increase to accept.Five hundred dollars isnt worth it for the new line....I have a question: Should I ask for increase now while it is my regular store card or wait it out and ask after it is a MC? Im thinking August must be the one year Anniverary date. Thanks for your input ![]()

I would ask when I wanted to I don't think it matters which one, they seem to be pretty flexible w/cli's. I haven't received or asked for 1 in yrs. but I remember them doing it about every 3-4 mths, until I got to 10k..they will tell you if it hasn't been long enough since last CLI in letter,,gives some generic line like "not enough exp.at current limit" or something to that effect... They usually give first auto luv ~3-4mths then intervals...
Best Wishes ...........
Thanks for the advice! Would it be a hard pull or soft to request and is it better to call the automated line, chat or call and talk to a person? Sorry to keep asking so many questions.I have had the card Im thinking near to a year but dont use it much.I have signed on recently and had the page come up to update my annual inncome to receive increases and I didnt do it,got too busy.Today I chatted and had them update it for me so Im assuming the info is there..Should I go ahead and do it? Thanks for your input ![]()

You can request after every four statements in which there was "activity", meaning you either made a payment or made a purchase in four separate statement cycles. Many advocate calling Credit Solutions but you can also just hit the luv button online if you're more hands-off. It's always been a soft pull for me and they don't penalize you for asking, even when they turn you down for a CLI. They're response is no worse than a "sorry, not at this time". No harm in asking--in fact, you could be leaving a higher limit on the table by NOT asking every four statements!
