JCPenney GEMB or JCPenney/Monogram?

JCPenney & Dillard's inquiries showed up on EQ.

Dillard's comes up as GEMB Dillard's but Penney's is JCPenney/Monogram. I thought JCPenney was GEMB???

I just took a look at my EQ report from June

the account is listed as: Gemb/Jcp and in the inq section: Gemb/Jc Pe

Is your Penney's card an older account? I think they used to be issued by monogram prior to GEMB.

I had an older account - closed in 2001 that shows up on my CR's as GEMB/JCPenney.

This is a new account and a new inquiry. Yesterday, as a matter of fact....

Did a quick search - GEMB took over Monogram. It would seem (by your inq) that Monogram is still underwriting certain accounts. Do a search on Monogram Bank of Georgia for more info.

GE Capital Corp. bought Monogram Credit Card Bank of Georgia.

I guess GE bought them several years ago - just surprised at all of the sudden showing up as Monogram (don't you love these names -- Monogram Credit Card Bank and GE Money Bank?? makes me smile), and Dillard's still shows as GEMB.
