Do they require a HP for membership?  I am eligible for membership based on employment.

Yes. They pull Equifax.

Re: JFCU

JFCU interest rates range from 11.9 - 16.9% for Visa CC. Many credit unions are offering rates under 10%. Sometimes PIF is not an option.

They are also offering personal loans at 7.90% up to 60 months.

@Anonymous, are they a conservative lender or are they typically pretty generous with CL?

Don't know if I consider them conservative or generous.  I think they have decent but not high high lending standards.  Pretty typical for CU I would guess and they are Equifax puller.  There is a max 30k starting limit for new members for CC or other revolving line.  I got the 30k with income proof right off the bat with their JLOC product that has some unique features (which I won't broadcast).  I find them easy to deal with.  Their rates on their loan products are decent.  Not the lowest I have seen but very competitive.  Think 2.49% for auto and 7.9% for personal loan.   Free Checking.

If you are in law enforcement, might not be bad idea to be supportive of them.  My JFCU ATM card has already gotten me out of a ticket!!
