Juniper not budging

So i have been approved for a 5k card with JFCU approved for 500 cl Hooters card and initially denied by Chase for the student card but then recon for 800cl. I was denied by juniper though. I have called 3 times for a recon. I have been denied all 3 times. I know i have very high util. but once these approved cards hit my cr i will have under 10% util. and my score should jump. The lady even informed me that they have my recon calls and record with date time and noted about the call. should i call a 4th time or just give up. It just seems odd i cant get anything when chase even gave me a card and they pulled EX and thats my worst score. Any suggestions???

Re: Juniper not budging

Its a TU inquiry. Be thankful. And be even more thankful they didn't give you a card. They are nuts.

Sometimes yes sometimes no. You have reconned this 3 times now. I don't think they are going to knock your socks off with a large limit at this point but if you want the card that badly keep trying. Good luck.

Re: Juniper not budging

All this Juniper has me slightly worried. Barnes & Noble sent me another email last Saturday night pleading me to apply for a cc. I searched the archives and finally decided I could afford a reject on TU (I have rather high util on many cards) and went ahead. Figured probable reject or possible 500. Instant 2400. Shock! Smiley Surprised

My Readers' Advantage card has expired. Do they automatically?  Hmm, I just got off the phone with B&N, no I'll have to do it manually. It looks like the 10% + 5% will compete with the Amazon Visa 3% and generally lower prices. But with a calculator handy! Smiley Very Happy

Re: Juniper not budging

They have hundreds of credit analysts. You can call all day until you get someone to approve you.  But keep in mind that you are getting approved for a card from a pretty lame CCC.  Do a Chase app and recon that, you'll be better off...IMO. Smiley Wink

Re: Juniper not budging

If I were you, I would be stoked on my shiny new Chase card and forget all about Juniper.

With the exception of MV and Ms. MV, all I have ever seen from Juniper is subprime garbage cards. They even gave Hauling a lame $500 CL.

Your recon failure this time is a blessing disguise!

ok i will stop reconning this and take my 800 cl chase and smile along with my 3k jfcu visa classic(call tomorrow to see if i got approved for the max starting limit of 5k).

one last question. initially i was declined with chase called and got recon for 800 thats with a 626 EX with tons of inquiries and 95% UTIL. once i activate the chase and JFCU card i will be under 10% which is a huge jump for my score. do you think i will get a CLI for all my new cards once my scores jump up from the improved UTIL???

Given that Chase approved you on a recon, I would give them a couple of months of proper usage before attempting to CLI with them. You should see nice score boosts, which will work in your favor for future CLIs.

A warning though, a CLI with Chase that is requested will always be a hard inq.
