Top 3 Best:
1. Amex
2. Citi
3. BoA
Top 3 Worst:
1. Chase
2. Barclay
3. Discover
To work with in what ways?
To work with in terms of attempting to get a CLI. Those 3 lenders below are very stingy in my opinion. Funny how AMEX and Discover are tied in highest customer satisfaction this year, but yet if we base it solely on CLI, AMEX has a better reputation and ease of executing one.
That is kind of odd about Barclays, since they are known for being quite the opposite, very generous. They recon easily, and give auto CLI every 6 months for accounts in good standing, although they seem sensitive with how you manage your other accounts as well as their own.

Completely disagree. I have had the same number of CLI's on my Discover that I have with Citi. The difference is Discover's top notch customer service.
Besides, most people do not ask for CLIs on a normal basis and because of that their customer service ratings stay on top/
One thing to remember about CCC's is they all have a limit on how much credit they are willing to extend to you across all of their CC's. Once you hit that limit, they will not extend you any more credit. With all of the 3rd party cards Chase underwrites, I hear about people hitting the Chase limit more often than other CCC's.
I think the OP has a ways to go before he/she hits the internal limit. However, I do like to diversify my CCC's.
I'm just basing my rankings on ease of obtaining a CLI and whether each lender gives you big hassle at the time you request it. I do not enjoy jumping through hoops and fire to get one.

Not that I need a CLI with Barclay but I opened my first card with them in Jan 2014-the world MC and was given a credit line of $8000 at 0% interest rate on purchases. I have PIF some months or sometimes having a small balance. However in May 2014 I opened 3 accounts that had required min spending for points. Actually, the US airway from Barclay was one of three cards and they gave me a $15,000 CL. So having had the Barclay rewards card for over 9 months now I have never recieved a CLI but as I said I really dont need a higher credit line from them but I think they keep a close eye on your credit report and what they see determines when and if you get a CLI. Chase and Discover have been good in terms of credit line. I have also noticed that the less you use the card the more they are incline to give you a credit line increase or 0% interest rate. For yrs I had Chase freedom and Discover sitting idle in a draw and I was bombarded with offers and finally accepted the offers and started using the cards again.

I have quite a different story. Amex is #1. Both Discover and Barclay have been great to me and Citi has been horrible on CLIs on my Preferred TY card but decent on Home Depot and Best Buy. I guess it is just whatever works for you.
