I am actually working on a board game for this. If you land on the right square, you can get as much as a 10K CLI!! Watch out for the card closed by grantor 30 days after opening!

Well there are those that say caredit apping shouldn't be done on a whim, but rather thought put into which one best suits your needs. 

This is why drunk apping after midnight is generally not a good idea.

Good for you. No point of keeping a card that you will not use. I will sometimes wait a year so that my average age of credit does not take as much of a hit. I have a Citi DC that is due to be closed this May.
