Just cancelled a credit card application - Help

Hey folks, yesterday I submitted an application for a bank called "Credit One." I decided to cancel it since the fees were just too cruel. As a result, I called today and the lady simply asked why and I explained how the AF is too high etc. A few moments later, she said it was cancelled. After a minute, I went to their site to check the status of my application and it said: Our system indicates that the application was cancelled.

 

Later today, I checked my credit report and it showed that they hard-pulled me yesterday. There's no account opened with them either..not at the moment atleast. Anyways, does it seem like I'm pretty much in the clear?

Account cancelled but you will take the hit for the inquiry.

thanks a lot for replying. Yeah I checked and I got hit with the inquiry. I'm just hoping that's the last damage they'll inflict on me.

+1 - you could call them and ask them if they would remove the INQ for you - 50/50 chance of that happening though. If it were me, I would call and at least try.

Thanks for your input Ray. I guess I'll try to do that after work. It's quite difficult communicating with these  foreign customer serivce people though, hah. 

 

But yeah...I should be in the clear excluding the inquiry damage right?

Yea it sounds like they cancelled everything dealing with a new account, but had already hard pulled you. +1 on calling to ask them to remove inquiry!

Yeah I did yesterday. This lady picked up and I explained the situation. When I mentioned I cancelled the application yesterday, her tone just totally changed hah. I went on to ask her if the inquiry could be taken down and she replied saying "no, sorry." I just said okay, thank you and hung up. It was already a chore re-iterating what I said because she could barely understand what I was trying to say. jeez...thanks for asking though.
