So, I opened the gold and BCE 2 months ago. This month the BCE had $950/1k and the gold was at $2100 which was pretty much at my "limit" the lady on the phone said. A few days later after speaking to her I was put under financial review.
I received an email and called in and the guy wanted me to send in bank statements and pay stubs. I told him I was only able to do bank statements so he said that was fine. Sent them in, a few days later (this week) I got an email saying my Gold card had a pre set limit set to $3100($1k above what it is now) and BCE was untouched.
Definitely ended up better than I expected. Very pleased with amex especially during times like this.
Happy ending
Congrats. How many months of statements did they ask for?
Yea opening cards with lowish scores and then nearly maxing them out in short order is going to trigger lenders asking questions.
Does Amex's financial review applies to all their cards (including Delta, HH and Marriott travel cards) or just their core revolving cards and charge cards?

Don't see any reason it wouldn't apply to all cards.

Congrats! Thanks for sharing your details.

Your ability to pay your obligations is what they're investigating. You may trigger an FR with usage patterns on one particular card but the results of the FR can most definitely affect any accounts you hold with them.
Congrats for passing it! I feel like lately, AMEX'S "NPSL" isn't really npsl. People getting FRd because they passed or is within their hidden credit limit.
Just 2, June and July!
