Just received a fraud alert email from Chase

Just received an email saying:

"It has come to our attention that your Chase debit card ending in XXXX may have been compromised by an unknown third party unrelated to Chase. For your security, we will send you a new debit card with a different number."

I looked on my account and there are not any unauthorized charges. Is it normal for them to catch it before or are they thinking that one of my charges that I peronally made was an unauthorized charge?

Re: Just received a fraud alert email from Chase

This sounds similar to what's going on with OCCU.

Weird how they would say "unknown 3rd party".

If they think it would be compromised, then how would they not know who took the data?

Farm and Fleet $3,000 (AU) Paypal Extras MC $1,500
Barclay's Apple Visa $1,200 QVC Qcard $800
Amazon Store Card $600 Discover $500
Walmart MC $400 Victoria's Secret $350
Credit One $300 Fingerhut $200

call and find out.

it could be that someone tried to make a big purchase / withdrawal from your debit card and the transaction was blocked.
