Just so we're all on the same page

When people are discussing apps, declines and approvals, a common question that follows is "how many INQs did you have?". So are people answering with the total on a given report or only for the last 12 months?

I state whatever is on my report regardless of the time period.

I always count total

Correct...2 years for EQ/TU and 25 months for EX.

I count total -- whatever's showing on the reports.

You could count total but it would also be a safe bet to just count the ones you've accrued within 12 months. Cause I've never seen a denial letter that states the number of "total" Inqs. Just the ones you've accrued during a 12 month period. I think those are the ones that not only matter to Fico but CC Company's as well.
