Keep Getting Wamu Pre-approvals

I was just approved for and opened a Wamu credit card account about three weeks ago. I have gotten two more pre-approval letters since then, one coming today. Would it do any good/any harm to apply again? I can take the inquiry, but I don't want to freak them out by applying again so soon.

Personally, I would wait and let them see how well you handle the one you just received.  Credit card companies are getting a little nervous with a rush on credit card applications.

Congratulations on being approved for a Wamu card.

Re: Keep Getting Wamu Pre-approvals

I was sucker and applied for the first pre-approval and they denied the application. They keep sending me more pre-approvals to me and I keep sending them to shredder.

Re: Keep Getting Wamu Pre-approvals

Congrats Tracy!

I agree with Sandy.

Work the card you just received for 3-6 months,
always pay in full and put yourself in a position
for a credit line increase. Only then would I even
think about moving on one of the pre-apps you
received.

Establish a track record first. Then make your move.

Congrats again!

I think WaMu has a 90-day waiting period between apps.  If you just applied three weeks ago, they likely won't even process your app if you try again.

Just to show you how "current" their preapproval offers are, I was approved for a WaMu card on April 2, and I'm still getting the preapprovals in the mail.  Just got one today, as a matter of fact.  You'd think they would stop now that I'm a cardholder.
