After a lousy app spree earlier this month (I got 1/6), I figured my EQ could take one last app before I deep freeze it for good. It had the least amount of inquires (4).
So...I head to Target and apped for the RedCard about a week ago. I got the 7-10 day message at the register...I figured it was a denial so I blew it off and went on with life.
I go to my mailbox today and find an envelope with a RedCard in it....with a WHOPPING $300 CL!
Not the greatest but considering they denied me in 2009, I'll take it. I was really expecting only $200...lol.
Now off to the garden for real...no more apps till June 2013 when the rest of my derogs fall off! Woot!

Good job, the limit will grow quick with that card. No worries.
if that was only true... target bank doesn't accept custiner initiated CLI's my Targer card is almost at 8 months of age, use 60-70% of its limit each month PIF no auto-CLI yet\\
Amex Blue 6k CL december 2011
Targer red 200 CL January 2012
guess which one will get a CLI first
The Target RedCard is backed by Target's own bank, Target National Bank. From what I have read they have been pretty stingy with CLI's for a couple of years. The theory I hear is that they took a bath on their Target Visa cards (stopped offering them compeletely last fall) and ever since they have been tight. Might change eventually though. Nevertheless, 5% off at Target is a pretty good deal.
