Less Balances or Higher Util?

I'm in a position to do a BT. I have balances on 70% of my cards. (7/10) Is it better to eliminate balances on some cards(minimal bal. ie 1200, 2800). This will drive up my util. on 1 card from 40% to 70%. But, is it worth eliminating a few balances? If at all, which will help my score more?

I think it's better to have less cards with balances and higher util on 1 then multiple cards with balances.

Might just be a wash point wise but if you could save money monthly doing the BT it makes sense to do that.

Re: Less Balances or Higher Util?

Good points. I will do it to reduce my # of balances and save a little bit on the BT. Thanks.
