Re: Little Luck with CLI's

Hi bren, I am jealous of your Target CLI. I have to work on Target, Macy's, Old Navy CLI's. As per HSBC Cards they are a wild card and very stingy with CLI's.

Concorduser....when you got the CLI for CreditOne, was it automatic? Requested? Was there a fee?

Unfortunately Target will give it to you when they give it to you. Was informed that once upgraded to Visa, you have to wait a year.

Re: Little Luck with CLI's

hi llecs, Creditone gives $100 cli every six months. We have to ask for it and they charge about $10 for the cli. I did not mind paying for it as I have the card in good standing for last 2 years. It is worth keeping the card as I have history on the card.

I know some people complained about the card, but I never had any problems. They give 21 day grace period. Only thing is they charge monthly fee instead of once a year. That makes me keep using the card and pay for it. Again I use bill pay and payment posts by next day. I have no complains with the card.

Re: Little Luck with CLI's

I have a creditone platinum visa as well but not have not received a CLI because the card is under 6 months old. The standard 100 dollar CLI could be a lot higher, but you gotta take what you can get sometimes until you can get more.

Re: Little Luck with CLI's

Thanks for the info...I was wondering.

CreditOne is on my short list to get rid of come summer. It served its purpose very well and have no qualms. Getting rid of it would actually improve my avg. age. Junny SeaMiles is on the same list.

Closing a card will not improve your average age.  If it has a good history, the account will stay on your reports for 10 years after you close it.

Do a search for posts by fused, and read the "Closing Credit Cards" link in his siggy.

Re: Little Luck with CLI's

I agree with Cheddar on this. I'll keep the card. It does not do any harm for me keeping it open. I dont mind AF as it is billed monthly and eventually it will help boost my scores. At least with CreditOne I know what I am dealing with. No surprises. Steady as Turtle. HSBC cards are on my list to close. Come March, if they dont waive AF they are going to shredder.

Re: Little Luck with CLI's

I had read Fused's siggy post after Fused pointed it out this week. There were points in there that didn't match what our CRs showed as per closed cards (limited history, though). It is on my to do list to study that more.
