@A local CU can be beneficial, but they don't start paying off until the mid 600's or higher. When I apped for a Visa with my CU, I still had a low end Score. I didn't get the lowest rate, though I did get the SL I asked for, $8K @ 9.9%. Recently had to use a HP to get it up to $10K, but she said I still didn't qualify for the 6.9 APR yet. So a little more witing. lol

You would likely benefit more from a "Bigger" Bank CC at this point in time. etc. the Cap1you have, nurture it until you can qualify for another card with higher limit. The promo 4.9% isn't any good with a low SL that cannot be utilized. It's tuff to build credit fast with 200-500 limits, just have to have a little paitience is all. I know, been there twice.

I am waiting, I made that decision because of exactly that, that the 4.9% wouldn't do me any good with anything less than at least $1,000 in CL. I can't ensure I would get even half that right now, which is why I decided to wait.

I figure I will do the CLI on the QS One in June (3 months) for the Double steps CLI.

Honestly I could really use a good CL card in June, but will see what happens.  Long story, but I have probably close to $10k in the bank after buying a vehicle in June.  I am going backpacking all that month to get my body back in shape and honestly to detach me from online as well.  A good CL card would be nice so I could pick up all the supplies, since I currently don't own much of anything I'm going to need.

Re: Local CU Credit Cards

I'm a member of a local CU and was wondering this as well, but can't even apply online!  Have to print out a form, fill it out, and fax it back...  WTH.  Also want me to list every card with payments, everything.  Aren't they gonna pull a credit report anyway?

Haven't tried applying with them since my scores have been this high, so who knows if it's worth it or not.  Thing is, I may not be with them much longer anyway.  I only opened the account to have my life insurance payments from my parents death direct-deposited there, but those end in October.  I have my salary deposited to my Chase account, which I'm loving right now, plus the wife's accounts are there also.  Smiley LOL

And, I would have to pay a monthly fee if no direct deposits occur, so there's that.
