Looking for 0% card with high starting limit - what's my best option?

So I hear NFCU gives out huge credit lines, but what about banks that offer 0% intro?

I am buying a house an plan on purchasing ~$5k worth of furnishings. I want to do this at 0% but I also don't want to get a card and then immediately max it out.

Currently I have $30k of available credit, 3% utilization, and credit scores of 750-780.

If you want a card that give a huge limit or grow rather quickly , there is always Synchrony's Lowes store card which can grow to 35k or more. Many people can get approved with a low sl and with 1 phone call can get over 10k or more. Obviously you know of Navy as well.

Thanks for the reccomendation, but I would prefer an actual credit card so I could use it at multiple stores. Do you have any other suggestions? It's a shame NFCU isn't 0% otherwise it would be a no brainer.

Take your pick, just about all cards offer 0% for the first 9 to 12 months. Citi does it up to 21 months. BofA might be a good place to start. Limits increase rapidly with them, even if it doesn't start out high..it will get you where you want to be pretty fast! NFCU offers 0% for new card members as well. The length varies, just read the fine print.

Im not sure what you are considering "high" sl.....Blispay offers 0% always on any purchase for the first 6 months. but they seem to typically give out relatively low (imho) SL's in the 5-8k range. nice card tho, 2% cash back plus 0% interest is a nice combination.

As others have mentioned, many cards will give 0% for the first 9-12 months as a promo.

Best of luck!

Edit: I just re-read your post and see your purchase amount and desire to not max out, so Blispay would not fit that bill. my apologies Smiley Happy

On average, Amex seems to be the most generous when it comes to SLs and CLIs.

I second AMEX. I don't know what your current cards and limits are. But with your scores and total available credit, I wouldn't be surprised if AMEX topped your highest current limit. Also, after 61 days, you'll likely be able to increase your limit substantially.

Check out their Blue Cash revolvers. You can choose between cash back and MR (Membership Rewards) points. And you can choose between an annual fee (with higher rewards) or no annual fee (with lower rewards).

I would stay away from Citi. Their limits tend to start out conservatively for most, and only grow with constant prodding by the cardholder.

BoA will give you a decent SL if your profile supports it (720+ for their best rates and SL's)

Discover can also give really good SL's and sometimes sends out targeted offers of 0% intro APR's for up to 21 months.

Good advice DeeBee. But i would only add with Boa, getting high sl really depends on your overall profile and such, because even with good scores some of us get those ubiquitous $1500 sls lol but the growth potential is realSmiley Happy

Re: Looking for 0% card with high starting limit - what's my best option?

Thanks so much for all your responses. I didn't know NFCU did 0% so maybe I will try there first. Also, I have been receiving Discover It mailers almost daily so maybe that's a good sign I could get a high starting limit.

Is it OK to apply for a second card from BoA? I currently have the BankAmericard. I've had it for 8 years and it's also my highest limit at $6,700.
