I only asked them to give $5000 CL for the credit card and overdraft LOC only gives $500 max.  They can give you more than $5000. I have seen people asking over $10K.  By the way, they also ask for paycheck stub for proof of income. I only had 3 inquiries and my EQ score was 794. I joined because they have cash back debit and it gives you back 10 cents back. I think it is better than Alliant CU.

Ron,

Do you feel their service is worthwhile? I ask because my wife always uses her debit card from USAA, and does not want to track CC spending. Smiley Mad

So this CU might be her ticket with the 10 cents back each time she uses the debit.

We will take the "hit" to get in with them, but first, is there anything you do not like or any "heads up" you can share with me that I should be aware of?

Thanks Ron...

Ray

Ray,

I used it once on the debit.  They really give 10 cents back every time you use the card.  It credit to the following statement. They also give me $25.00 by opening the checking.  It is a good CU like RBFCU  and I'm sure you heard of them.  They were San Antonio Teachers Credit Union.   They pull soft on EXP to verify your ID. and they also check Telecredit.  You have nothing to worry about unless you want to apply for their credit cards and overdraft LOC.  They will ask you to provide two copies of paycheck stubs for proof of income.  It was pretty easy.  If you like 10 cents cash back per purchase, you might want to check out RBFCU.  This one is only to the residents of South Texas (Austin, San Antonio, San Marcos and surrounding areas). Thanks Ron,

We lived in SAT for almost 20 years! Now we are in Minneapolis so I would not qualify for RFBCU. We did have accounts with SACU but those have been long closed now. We lived in Alamo Heights.

Again, thanks for the feedback, I will talk to my Wife the famous debit card user!  Smiley Very Happy

Ray,

I didn't know. Now I understand why you know Bjorns and I have known for 20 years.  You already knew Firstmark CU.  It is the same cu they were San Antonio Teachers Credit Union.  By the way, do you know any family member still live in San Antonio? You might still qualify to join RBFCU.

Yep, my brother in law still lives there! Maybe we will reach out to him....

Bjorn and I go way back. I almost went to work for him when they were on Broadway... He is a great guy with really cool stuff as you know.

We miss SAT and will most likely move back when we retire.

Get this, I used to work for USAA in the bank!

Ray,

Bjorns already moved to 281 and Blitters Rd. Now the store is much bigger than they were in Broadway. Cool toys he got.  We have been shopping since they were in Broadway. They used to have laser disc next door and mobile section.  He already closed laser disc section and mobile hifi section in 281/Bitters Rd near airport.  USAA still at the same location (I-10/Fredericksburg Road).  You might qualify for USAA MC and Amex (if you don't have one) when you used to work for them. Anyway, you might want to try either RBFCU or Firstmark.  Both of them are good CU.

Yep, we have been to the new store on 281 a few times. We try to get to SAT every other year to see how much it has changed... We used to rent laser disks from them all the time!

I have been a full USAA Member for coming up on 30 years now. Have their World MC but no real need for the Amex....

USAA owns us!  They insure everything we own. Such a great company.

Small world.....

Re: Looking for MC w/Rewards

I'm sure others have mentioned it, but Chase Freedom MC is a good one.  Same as the VISA.

I'm sure you miss SAT.  I have both World MC and Amex. They have good customer service. They already open two branches in SAT  (I-35/1604 and Alamo Ranch in Northwest side).

May be someday you move back to SAT.
