Looking for data points on Upgrade to AEO Visa

I have had my AEO card for 4 months now I would love to have it update to the Visa version, my current limit is 3,000$

I was just wondering what type of limits, usage, and how long it had been opened when you all were offered the Visa upgrade...

I put heavy spend on the card the first 2 months around 150$ each month, then I stopped using it because I have enough of clothing as of now.

This will probably be no help, but when I apped I got the Visa. I would call Sync and see if you can upgrade!

I'm not certain that my data points will be of any help as I believe my situation is a bit atypical, but glad to share.

If I recall correctly, I'd had my AEO store card for about 8 or 10 months when the little upgrade box popped up inside my acccount very late at night when I was reviewing the account. I accepted immediately. My original AEO store card limit was $1,500. When they upgraded the card to Visa, it became a new tradeline and I believe the new CL was either 3k or 5k, cannot recall exactly which. My AEO Visa is now at $15,000 limit.

I had only used the card twice and PIF, and I think my situation is atypical because most people will have success being offered the upgrade with heavy usage. Synchrony has been acting weird lately, so I'd recommend heavy usage and either large payments or PIF monthly. Good luck.

Thanks for the help guys, what would I ask when I called in I imagine they would laugh and tell me I have not earned the upgrade? I assumed i would have to wait until I got a pop-up.

I imagine I would have got the Visa if I had applied in the store. I have read that there is more success with getting Visa/Mastercard from Synchrony if one applies in store.

I hit the CLI button last night since so many people have been having success with it lately, I asked for $5,000 and they approved me. It was more of a do it to see if I can get the increase thing, i certainly will not use 5,000$ at AEO.

Just call and ask if it is possible to be upgraded to the Visa version. If not eligble yet, now that you got a "standard siggy type" cl, show some usage and msybe theyll notice. I think alot of times with Synchrony, they like to see a year to two of having the card before iffering upgrade. That could be just my way of thinking so only take that advice if your food needs a grain of salt
