Re: Loving Macys!

Congrats on your Macy's success. Good place, good card.

I got a very firm foam topped mattress from American Signature Furniture. I like it because my bouncing around doesn't annoy DW on it.

Miah, I'm going to have to replace my (also a joke, by now!) double pillow-top king mattress sometime fairly soon, and I'll probably end up going the Macy's route myself.
May I ask which one it is you're planning to get?

Sure, I bought the Serta Perfect Day "Perfect Affection" Ultra Plush Super Pillowtop Mattress Set with Memory Foam Layers. It was a steal in my opinion. The bed just envelopes you and it is SOOOOO soft!

They had other great mattresses but this one was a slice of heaven!

Thanks!  I'll check it out.  According to their 'Mattress Buying Guide', Plush-to-Ultra-Plush is the best for a side-sleeper like me (though I seem to sleep fabulously on a quite-firm mattress in my parents' guest room, when I visit them).  Thanks for the product review! Smiley Happy

Re: Loving Macys!

Congrats to you!  I was wondering if you spend more than $500 on your Red card will they upgrade you to the next card even if your CL is $300?

@I am not sure. I have had my macy's card 2 years next month. I started @ $100, bought small things really (earrings or part of my bill cash part card). I called once to see if it was even still active and found out that the credit limit had gone up to $1500, so I was indeed surprised.

@I have the red one, if they choose to upgrade I think it will be short lived because without furniture purchases I spend very little @ Macy's.

Re: Loving Macys!

Miahmarie, because of your post I am now the proud owner of a new matress from Macys. Here's what happened:

I walked into the store and was forthcoming that my CL was only $800. The saleslady said, "No problem. I'll take care of that." So DW, myself and the kiddos tried every single bed from the cheapest to the most expensive. In the end we decided to get a king-size Sealy Posturepedic bed (can't remember which one) for about $1960. We also ordered the bed frame but declined the protection and chose a late delivery date for the end of the month. We also opted for the 24 mo. deal.

Anyway, she took our name, address, etc. and then handed us our delivery papers. And that was it. She never mentioned that we got a CLI.

So, I went home and logged into the account and my $0 balance still shows for revolving but there is a new line-item that says "SEAT-Special Event".. Confused, I called CSR and they said they could not answer any info about reporting (I'd have to call Mon. to the credit dept.) but that my current CL is $800. The CSR then asked if I wanted a CLI to $1500. Of Course! ...........Maybe it is a good thing that the bed won't show up on my CR, but I was hoping for a $3k CL to cover the bed.

Re: Loving Macys!

Hey llecs, I actually called before the purchase. So your purchase didn't go on your Macy's card? So you also get a CLI on your Macy's and some separate account with the 24 months no interest?

Fantastic! Good for you!

I am thinking I could have gotten the mattress and a CLI and still had the same deal without util.....I think you got a way better deal.

Awesome keep me posted on your new mattress! I get mine Thursday so I am WAY excited!

Re: Loving Macys!

Yea, I probably should have called. Then too, even if I did call, there's no guarantee I'd get a CLI to $3k plus (est. price of a bed in my mind).

However, of the flip side it would have been cool to get such a large CLI. I wouldn't have minded utilization issues for then next 6 or so months.

Not complaining and I'll certainly rest better once the mattress arrives. We are stoked. Family naps are mandatory in our home....the old, saggy queen mattress just wasn't doing it for us.

FYI to anyone, the sale continues through next weekend, or so they said. We are going to buy one more bed for DS#1 this coming week. His 3 yo tall frame isn't fitting into the Toys R Us Cars toddler bed.

So I just checked Macys.com and mine says FLEX - REVOLVING ACC and has a balance. I don't see the SEAT-Special Event. Hmmm...

I am so excited for you all! Did you go soft, super soft, medium or firm???

Do you all do family naps?

We did firm. Our mattress was old. Ooooooooooooooollllllllllllllllldddddddddddd (no, it wasn't made out of bedrocks, but close).

Yep, family naps are mandatory. I'm convinced that if we all took naps our world would be a lot more calmer.
