Lowes cli Question

Does Lowes do a SP at the time of a CLI, or do they use a random one from the past?
If denied/approved do the notify in writing or electronically?

In my experience whenever I used the 'button' online they used the last SP they had on file (which at least once was several months old), but when I called Credit Solutions they put me on hold to pull a fresh SP.

I would expect chat (or call to regular CSR) to be the same as the button.

Re: Lowes cli Question

Thanks UncleB,

Do they notify in writing (snail mail) or will the email you that a letter is waiting?

I plan to apply for a CLI in a week or two when a 5K CC payment clears on another card... lowering my total uti.

I know they will inform you electronically of approval/deny for a CC, just curious on how they notify for a CLI.

If you call or ask in chat they will tell you whether you are approved or not for the increase that you ask for.  If not they will either grant you a lower amount and tell you that then.  If denied or given a lower amount than you request, a letter will be sent to you with the reasons.

Re: Lowes cli Question

All that is of course absolutely right.

Also pay attention to your TransUnion FICO Score when dealing with Synchrony Cards like Lowes or others.

They measure that Score like a hawk and any improvements to it greatly increases your chances with them from approvals to better CLI's. Smiley Happy

Re: Lowes cli Question

But is the notify with physical mail or electronically?
I ask cause every cli my significant other gets cranky... and explaining the difference in a SP CLI and a new line is getting old.
So if I am denied, and they tell me electronically, no harm. But if a letter comes saying the cli was declined, it's just a nuisance.

It's been a common practice for some of us synchrony holders to ignore those. They just do not line up with what synchrony can and will turn right back around and do for you to the better. It's only their computer generated dismissal for now why they couldn't or wouldn't do either a CLI or offer a full amount if countered.

And whether you like it or not it's automatic. They spit those out for the mail and then here it comes.

If she gets the mail and gives you grief over it just try hard as that might be to simply explain it's not actually anything negative whatsoever but how they respond after a request which maybe doesn't match up for them to eligibility requirements that week or month, but will not always be a denial.

You do have to work the synchrony accounts and system to your advantage in stages and pace it. They don't have any problem with that unles someone is hammering them all time.

CreditAddict is very sharp at this and is guiding a useful approach on how to help make better results.

Just don't feel blowed off if no joy. You have to come back at that another time and one of those will break the ice and then your off to the races with them. Smiley Happy.

Nah, ask for $35K.  That's the max that they will go without POI.  I got that very easily as have many others.
