So I went on a little app spree this week, decided it was time to get rid of my college cards.  Applied for Citi TY, approved at $6.5K, Freedom approved at $6K, BCE approved at $1K.  All approvals were instant, but I did have to call Chase and Amex to get my lines of credit.

Has anyone seen a BCE issued with a lowly $1K line?  Do you think I can get $3K at 61 days, $9K at six months and $25K after 14 months?

did you call and try to Recon the credit line?

Re: Lowest ICL for BCE

I'm considering asking for an increase when I call in to activate. Something comparable to the new lines Citi and Chase gave me. Through numerous searches it doesn't appear that Amex entertains recons for ICL's.

Re: Lowest ICL for BCE

Amex typically only recons for incorrect report information - its always worth a try tho. I have seen on several occasions people get a 1k initial CL from Amex. It can grow but there is something Amex is seeing they didn't like. Did you get the initial welcome packet with your reasons? You would only get it if you didn't get the lowest APR though.

Re: Lowest ICL for BCE

I applied for the card on Friday, so I'm still waiting for the welcome packet. As for APR's Citi and Chase have me 12.99%.
