Say you have a Capital One card with at least a decent limit of a few thousand bucks, maybe more. Does anyone know what is the lowest number they will let you credit line decrease to? I'm talking initiated by the cardholder, not Capital One. Thanks.
Quicksilver card. It has a $4k limit now, was hoping I could take it down to $500 or even less but not sure if Capital One is cool with such a thing. Or, perhaps they'd agree to a temporary CLD, say 6 months, where in 6 months I could return to my previous limit if requested.
Very curious why you would do this, would you mind sharing?
Dude that would be so cool to find out. Definitely post the results for us.

Why do you want to CLD your card, and why only temporary?
I read in another thread of his he is looking at possibly playing with his report in terms of utilization and seeing what the results are. Basically, manipulating his report (not in a bad sense) and seeing what changes happen and how drastic.
that goes against everything we have been taught. do it now!

I see...
The only effect it would have will be in util/scores. Lowering your util on a card whether it was lender initiated or consumer initiated, has no real effect in FICO eyes. Its not considered "negative", it just see that the "overall" revolvolving CL total has decreased, and adjusts its scoring, it doesnt flag it as a negative acct.
