I see a good number of "lowest score" threads and was wondering if someone wanted to compile of list for more popular cards. Perhaps it could be outdated before it even gets published, but I know I've checked them out just to gauge if I should even make an attempt at applying. Yes, I know there are other factors like history, file width, derogs and the likes, but we all know that there are "rules of thumb" that help navigate the decision to apply.
Anyone?

what are you going for
I'm not applying at all. In fact, I'm doing a good job gardening!
I was just thinking about having the community create a thread that would indicate what lowest scores have gotten approvals from a list of credit card companies or any specific card.
It was just a thought.
While it would make for a decent thread I just don't know how possible it would be to compile said list. Reason being is that I've seen folks get denied for cards that I've been approved for with scores a lot higher than mine. I've read many times where Sync has denied an app for folks with scores well into the high 600's and low 700's for the exact same card that I picked up when my score was low to mid 600's. For example, I've seen people struggle to get Credit Solutions to bump them on a card such as Lowes to any sort of usable limit with really decent scores, while honestly, I was able to get to $12k on my Lowes card when I was in the 660 range on TU.
Right now I've got a 750+ score on TU, and there are times when I can't get credit solution to bump me on a card until I receive the card, or sometimes they'll even tell me to wait via the "insufficient experience at current limit" while others with TU scores a lot lower than that of my own can get a bump via Credit Solutions seconds after applying.
Another example, I've lately been blessed with love by PenFed. I still have my BK13 reporting on all reports and they've shown me love that they don't to folks with a lot better score and no derogs reporting. Same for CapOne...I had (2) Venture One cards, a regular Venture, and a QuickSilver while my 08 scores were in the 650 range. Some folks still can't get those cards with 700+ scores.
I'll sum it up with my quest for a Discover card. I can't get them to even offer me a secured card let alone a regular. But if you check the approval section of the forum, there are many folks scooping up their regular card with scores lower than mine and very recent BK discharges (I'm post 3 years). It's just too many different variables that play into approvals for me personally to ever just apply based on scores alone.
I would be interested to see this but only because I have fallen for most of the credit pitfalls already and I am in the garden.
I think what might be more productive and helpful is a thread explaining why score alone doesn't matter but I suspect that might be out there already. My scores are high enough for AMEX and CHASE but I can't get either. If you make this thread I think a lot of newbie people who are itching to app rather than read (like I was when I joined) that just need that extra little nudge might take the score to be the gospel even if you post a disclaimer.
If you look at some of the regular posts asking about lowest score there is usually at least one post on the first page saying “hey, you need at least this score but other factors might hinder the approval, what is your credit file like?” And almost always there is some key bit of info that was left out. I think these folks are looking for a yes, go for it, rather than the facts. In other words, they want to be cheered on rather than be told they shouldn't go for it. That is just my $.02 though, YMMV

No, we do not all assume that. Never rely solely on score. Learn to assess your own reports.
If you choose to rely on score then make use of existing resources such as the Credit Pulls Database instead on relying on threads like this that will fall by the wayside due to inactivity. The CPDB constantly collects data points and is a better tool for the job.

Cpdb still won't give the best picture on hard credit factor data There's a lot of 15,000 starting limit with American Express 670 score. must all live in San Jose with million-dollar incomes.
Lol funny you said. I got 2 Amex 6-7 weeks ago and my starting limit is 18000 for one and 12000 for the other. I also just got approved for the Amex green with no pre set spending limit. My income isn't million dollar lol but it's 240k for 2015 my score for experian at time was 698
I think one would be best served by visiting the credit pulls database, searching for whatever card they are interested in, and they can then see the FICO scores they were either approved or denied with.
