Hey guys/gals,
been lurking around these boards every now and then and thought i would post for the first time today, with what i think is good news!
So i am 22 year old male, work full time and make about ~37k a year. I have had two credit cards in the past two years 6 months, a Capital One Journey Card with $500 and Care Credit for my dog with $500 limit, all of which have been used and paid off in full each and every month. Never late, went over, NOTHING!. I have had a 3 year $11k car loan which i paid off within 1 year 6 months, never late, no problems, CLEAN!!
I am very good with my money, and very aware of my credit score. I am diligent and careful with anything involving credit/cards. Had 11 hard inquires in the past 2-3 years, of which the last 3 just fell off!!!
My Current myFico Scores are: Experian 753 Equifax 749 Transunion:idk.
I have just applied for:
Discover IT: Approved $2,500 CL
AmEx BCE: Approved $7,500 CL <--Wasn't expecting such a big number at all
Got the ITCH and did one more
Chase Freedom: APPROVED $4500 CL
So that is a total of 4 credit cards for a 22 year old with what i think are good/great Fico scores. People doubt me and say i shouldn't be doing this but i am fully aware and understand what i can handle and my previous credit cards prove it. I use the cap one for ONLY gas for the car every week (~$150 by end of month) and it is paid off a day before it is actually due.
kinda beating myself up over it a little as i just had my last 3 inquiries fall off and now i will have 2 more.
So what do you all think, did i just get approved for some good cards and how do you think im doing so far for 22?!?Any Tips for what i should do next?
Congrats and sounds like your doing great so far.
Next CLI Capital One
CLI CareCredit. (try for SP and if it's going to be a HP and you use the card then go for it... if it's done and you just keep it then don't proceed if they won't give you something on SP... BTW it counters, ask high.... like $3k+
You're doing great! I don't think there's one way to follow this path of "amazing credit". The fact that you have revolvers and an auto loan, and have never been late, is a very great history to have. I'm a 22 year old male as well...(Turning 23 in 7 days). I too have never had any lates, over limit, charge offs, etc. I have 7 CC's so far. 6 of which are all revolving, and one that is a charge card (my amex). Do I have more credit cards than I was expecting to get? YES! But regardless, I still use them wisely. I still am not late.
So whatever DOUBTS other people are giving you, don't pay it any mind. At first, I thought it was bad to have more than a certain amount of CC's, but this site CLEARLY proved that theory wrong. I've seen people with 15 CC's and their fico scores are in the 800's. So just keep doing what you're doing.
BTW, Getting your foot in the door with amex is always a good thing!
Congrats on the approvals!
Welcome to the forum btw!

Thanks, I will certainly be calling Cap One Monday for an CLI. Do you know if they do a HP or SP? how easy are they for CLI's? And who should i ask high for, Care Credit? That card would be nice to have a higher limit on as its for my dog and everyone knows one vet bill could be MAJOR.
