Most of the time, up to 5k a month on a card won't get you in trouble. However, like longtimelurker said, people have gotten into trouble before for lower levels of MS.
And just to be on the safe side, I think its best to avoid MS on any Amex issued cards, especially if the bluebird account itself is issued under your SSN as well. It's just too easy for them to link everything up to see the big picture.+1. The downside is its soo tempting to do MS on the PRG in order to reach that 30k annual bonus.

Agreed!! If you don't meet the 30K on PRG, its very hard to justify the AF for me atleast.
Blue Cash is the King of MS, if done properly I guess.

Well on the PRG its 30k spend for 15k more MR, making it a 1.5% card (assuming worst case scenario of 1ccp).
The upcoming everyday card is also 1.5% if you can make 30 purchases each month. Just spilt up your purchases at the grocery store into separate transactions! Though you prolly will piss the hell out of others whom are waiting in line...
For splittig transactions, I have read on the Amex website, that It says the merchant may submit these two transactions one time and It will only be counted as one transaction for the rewards purpose.
Basically, they want to use this card everyday and get addicted to using this card always.. you know, generate more revenue to amex.
@Creditaddict wrote:Why not just get a Capital One Cash Business Card and get 2% cash back for all this google stuff.
I would never use a debit card because I want rewards for ALL my spending and if the bank has an issue, I'll move on to another card/bank that wants my spending.
If for whatever reason you are still concerned about high spending on your discover just go online and put in your income including your google ad selling income and then your account spenidng won't ever look excessive... but really we are talkning about juast $2k/month on an $8k limit, where you "can" run into issues is if you are spending say $20k a month and your limit is only $5k.
Thanks Creditaddict for sharing, usually it's about 4k/mo spend on Google Adwords for me.....2k came from me just thinking to spend half on Discover and switch to half to Debit every month. Can I get a Bussiness card with my Social Security # because my business credit has not been established....
AFAIK, Chase is good to issue business cards for starters easily. Expecially if you have built a good relationship with chase.

Chase will want to see at least a year of active revolver history in a person's credit report before considering them for a biz card.

Even I follow this rule. Use MS to meet the min spend quickly.
Doing 1-2K per month and alternating various cards for diversity should be OK.
I have read some people did like $50K per month, and chase closed ALL relationship with her.
I personally feel, $50K per month is way too much..
Right, but as you say, that is just your personal feeling. From FT, a common theme is that doing more than you yourself do is "abuse" (like the very old "definition" of alcoholic, someone who drinks more than their doctor). Many people do 200-300K a month (on more than one card) without issue. It just depends. And many people here feel 1-2K a month is abusing the system as well. People got shytdown by Citi for buying two gift cards at CVS (as graduation presents)
I wonder what would be the annual income of who do 200-300K per month. This really, sums up as 3.6 Million $ Per Year. That's really a lot of points to get in a single year.
Even, I can do like 5K/Day (1K on all 5 cards), also the cashier at my CVS has become my friend (after repeatedly buying) .
This comes to 150K per Month. I just don't want to spend the 10$ Fees unnecessarily.
Just got some cards 1 hour ago. Today as soon as I entered the CVS, he made a gift card bills for $2K without me speaking a word. Great understanding I say....

If people got shutdown for two gift cards I am inclined to think there was something in that person's credit report that already had them in a higher risk category.
I have heard citi was very aggressive initially for the Gift card spends. They have closed many accounts and even made the GC transactions as cash advance on the statements.
Later, after some time, they have become ignored about this and let customers use their cards for MS.
