Macy's AMEX CLI - Hard or Soft pull?

Hello!

Ive had my Macy's AMEX for about a year now and my limit has remained at $1,500. 

I just purchased a couple things and wondered about doing a CLI. I chatted with two reps and both advised it would be a hard pull but I saw on here that many have done a soft pull increase. 

Help before I pull the plug!

I have the regular macys card and it is always a SP every 2 months like clockwork CLI, but I have no experience with their AMEX card.
