Hello all,

So I randomly logged into my Macy's account tonight and received the following message:

Some questions for the Macy's upgrade experts:

1. Wondering how this upgrade will report to the credit burearus. Will the Macy's store credit card show as closed and the upgrade as a new account or will the account number simply update? I've had the Macy's store card for many years now so if it will be reported as a "closed" account or affect my credit scores in any way I'd rather not take the offer. Currently a $0 balance on this account. Has been for a while.

2. I'm guessing there's no hard pull for this offer?

3. I have a $15K credit line on the store card. Worth asking for an increase prior to the upgrade or wait for the new card? I'm guessing the credit line won't change unless I request an increase.

They would issue you a new number and override the existing card in credit bureau's! Everything would stay the same, such as CL, open date, balance and credit history.

2. I'm guessing there's no hard pull for this offer? No HP

3. I have a $15K credit line on the store card. Worth asking for an increase prior to the upgrade or wait for the new card? I'm guessing the credit line won't change unless I request an increase. Either way it would work! I received CLI before and after AMEX upgrade!
