I have another question I had a Macy's card a long time ago that I wasn't able to keep up on and it went to collections, charged off, and eventually fell off my report, I'm sorry to say that I never paid it and I would like to pay it off now. I have heard before that if you pay on it that they will let you reopen it? Do anyone know if this is still the case?
Thanks again.
how long did it fell off your credit report?

I saw a post (elsewhere) a while ago saying that "Macy's Rehab" is gone.
The information came from a call center csr who told the poster that the program was discontinued.
I haven't seen any recent success stories, so it may be true.
I want to say that it fell off in 2011. Plus my husband had a Macy card that went to collections (before we met) that he paid in full and he wants to reopen it.
If it's been more than 4 years, they will consider you for a new account based on your credit standing today so you are WAY past that... go get yourself a new account. I always suggest applying in store when it comes to Macy's and Bloomingdales, they just don't trust security when you do it online and until you verify yourself after an approval you will probably start with a $100-$300 CL and you can't be considered for the Amex right from the start.

That and...you can only be considered for the AMEX with an in-store application ![]()
Thanks for the information! Feeling pretty excited right now lol. unfortunately, I live in the middle of nowhere so I have to do most of my shopping online and end up applying for CC's online. Hopefully I'll make it out to the mall soon so that I can apply in person.
So would my husband be eligible for a new account? even though his Macy's account is still reporting in his CR? (it's showing paid in full/ closed/ collection account) It is due to fall off his CR 07/15 don't know if I should just have him wait it out?
