This will not affect your average age of accounts --- they will delete your current account and replace with the AMEX account with the same start date as your store account. I just got the upgrade as well and it hit my credit report yesterday. And congratulations! I believe the general concensus is that you can request a CLI every 30 (or is it 31??) days with Macy's, but you may want to wait until you have your new account number just to avoid any confusion.
