OP, this has been posted elsewhere, so I am repeating myself. When I purchased my last new car, FMCC had a great deal going on. I told my salesrep only to check FMCC. He didn't. There were now several HP's on my report and my score had dropped a number of points. No, the auto loan inquiries were NOT treated as one inquiry. I did not like how my CR looked. I wrote (return receipt) all of the financial institutions and told them that I did not authorize their HP's. All of them were removed. A couple took another letter or two and one involved a phone call. Each time one was removed, my score went up about four points.
