I remember reading here a few months back that Macys was consolidating accounts but, it's unclear how that's possible if they have different underwriters.
CSRs have been complete idiots, after dozens of attempts to link the AmEx to my online store account and constantly getting "try again later". CSRs have sent me 2 new cards that result in the same message despite 6-8 calls, NOTHING is resolved, even after demanding an American CSR! EO mailbox is full!
Both cards work but, I can't access the AmEx online for anything, my store card has a $10K CL, AmEx? Who knows! Is this a joke?
After the consolidation,some folks like me were combo'd to only the Amex,some kept both store & Amex....
they sent out letters to previous cardholders back in early Aug. telling each how they would end up and new due dates.
As far as linking cards mine was done on old site and I just added Amex card to site when it came& it showed both cards,,,now I only have the Amex since combo occurred.......
Both cards are backed by DSNB a Citi owned bank.....afaik
calling the number I believe gives you the CL also,,I know I didn't know the CL on mine after approval in store & found out by calling automated
* remember when linking Amex cards use that 4 digit code on front instead of 3 on back...
they've had mass confusion since changeover so I've heard on forum,,search around here too,,there have been some talk concerning the new changes...

Good Luck it's almost impossible to get Macy's to do anything right these days.
When I say idiot, I'm not joking, these CSRs are plain stupid. One told me to use another browser to link! The automated # doesn't tell me my CL or allow payments.. NOW the friggin' SM doesn't work either

Pretty pathetic...I just created a new macys account using the AmEx & a different email address and up pops my store card, too! I also requested a CLI to $20K since it's still at $1.5K SL from July '15.
It isn't clear if they counter offer if denied
Wait, what do you mean you don't have a store side anymore just an amex side?
The account combination was store, jewelry, furniture, major purchase and Amex stayed the same by itself?! ours did.

I created a new "my account" with the AmEx details & new email, when it materialized it also showed my store card. 2 separate cards within my macys account. It was just a "backdoor" way to access my AmEx and voila` the store card showed up too

yeah, was going to say no way they combined those!
We have $24k store & $25k Amex.

I agree. I called the executive office. Misapplied over a 1k payment, inquires for cli that I was assured would be a softpull, they were not. All inquires removed. Account credited for previous interest (small amount). Now if they will report credit lines ect.. They did the exact same thing with Bloomies.
Are they finally reporting????
Part of the problem lies with the language barrier I believe. (Hope that's politically correct )
