I've been reading these boards since Dec 2011 to try to improve my credit scores and to become more knowledge on credit in general so I won't be stuck in a bad situation in the future (I'm 21). I started with my first credit card from local credit union (500 CL) in Dec. along with Paypal SC (300 CL) and an Amazon Store card (400 CL). Since them both Paypal and Amazon have grown to 1200 CL. Due to a need to pay off a considerable sum and not having the enough money on hand, I applied for a few cards over the past few days. These were my results.
Citi Forward - 2400 CL
Citi Dividend Platinum Select for College Students - 2400 CL
Upromise World Mastercard - 1600 CL
Walmart Discover - 800 CL
Discover More - 500 CL
Amex Zync - NPSL
Chase Freedom - Pending Review
Amazon Rewards Visa - Pending Review
I was completing shocked by results. I was denied by all of the above before and wasn't expecting to be approved. 8 months and an income change really made a difference. I want to thank everyone for your great advice. I will definitely not be applying for anything else for a few years.
Congrats!!
Great work!
LS2982, I needed to finish paying my undergrad college before they would release my final transcripts to my graduate program. I will be receiving a refund check from my graduate program in a month and will use it to pay the credit card that I will use to pay my undergrad (the rest will go into savings). Then I'll be free and clear and will only being using them for everyday purchases. I hope that made sense.
It made sense. We just hope that you stick to that plan, is all!

PLEASE tell me you have a scholarship or fellowship that is funding your graduate school, because where federal aid is concerned, there is no "free" aid like Pell Grants awarded to graduate students...only student loans.
In other words, if you are using refunds from student loans to pay off credit card and other debt, you really do need to formulate another strategy. The former basically amounts to robbing Peter to pay Paul and kicking a gigantic can down the road.
Note: This is brought up only out of concern, not to brow beat
