Don't feel so left out anymore.
Yuppers, I just got my email today as well! Now to wait for Sapphire information.
If we haven't received, would it be safe to assume they'll be mailing an account closure letter instead?
only email i got from chase freedom this week is about Lyft benefits.
that was this morning.
I don't think Freedom will get any kind of notification, you would have to call and do a PC on your own to get new stuff. Or apply for the new card (and maybe get SUB).

Contacted Chase on the Freedom Card conversion (in writing) to the Freedom Flex MasterCard. Chase confirmed in writing what you just posted. They will allow all present customers to keep their present Chase Freedom Visa Cards as is unless a telephone contact is made using the telephone number on the back of the cardholder's Freedom Visa Card. They did add Chase would do an evaluation of the cardholder's performance (no guarantee on the possible account conversion) and related. Frankly, I was surprised by the account review?

I also contacted Chase regarding conversion, by phone. The card can be PC'D but not until the 13th.

What if you don't PC to Flex? Does the Freedom remain as it is (5% rotator, 1% everything else)?

My interest is on what they might do with the CSP, so i will be watching for that. Because after this revamp on non AF cards you have to think a that one is due for the AF Cards, you can't have the Freedom cards giving 3% on Dining when the CSP only get 2X UR points.
CSP only gets 2x, however when you factor in the 25% multiplier on redemptions within the Chase portal, it's effectively 2.5% back. While it's still under the 3% of the CFF/CFU, i agree the CSP and CSR need revamped now. But you're able to make up some of that difference. So, you can transfer your UR points from the CFF/CFU to CSP and then Dining will be 3.75%. Plus, 2x on ALL travel, the $95 AF is worth it imo.
All that being said, i'm very interested to see what they do with the CSP/CSR. I'm truly hoping they add a solid grocery point earning category to both, and at least 3x dining on CSP, and 4x dining on CSR. Hopefully 5x on CSR, if we're lucky...
What is an "account review"? Sounds ominous.
I'm astonished that forum members are attempting to justify paying a $95 fee for the CSP to get 2x dining when the no-fee CFU and CFF will get 3x dining. There must be a full moon this week....

I don't know if any of the callers above dove that deep in their calls, but I'm curious as well. I understand that this change will not be automatic (as it is with the CFU upgrade email) and that we will have to call to PC, but I'm wondering if they will even let us know? I suppose they can just close off new apps and just let the CF card go on as is with diminished earnings (like the no AF Sapphire), but I'm hoping they'd at least email everyone to let them know the option is available to switch and get new perks. Either way, we'll find out within the next 14 days!
