Making payments on your Ford with a CC

I recently noticed that Ford allows you to make payments on your loan with a credit card through Chase.  Well it says you maybe charged a convenience fee, when I tried to use my Discover it wanted to charge me $12.  Ummmm no!

Well my question is, since I do not have a Chase card, has anyone ever made a payment on their Ford with a Chase card and were you charged a convenience fee to do so?  It would be nice to have a reward card to make payments with and not pay the fee Smiley Happy

Here's a few recent posts on a similar topic - in short there really isn't any way to pay installment loans or rent or mortgage payments via credit cards without a fee, or sometimes it is treated like a cash advance.    The fee is usually large enough that it outweighs any benefits/rewards:
