Ray the easiest way to stop is to STOP reading all message boards pertaining to credit. Been there done that.
I hear you.
I do like to read this board and have picked up some good tips to work with.
Now maybe I can cool down and share some of my past experience. Maybe I can be of help...
When you read these boards, it is not hard to get all excited and app just for the heck of it. I know, it caught me!

YOU NEED TO PUT A FREEZE ON ALL OF YOUR CREDIT REPORTS!! That's my yelling.
THANKS FOR YELLING! ![]()
I am considering doing just that. Temptation is a terrible thing unless it can be controlled!

I've had credit freezes on my TU and EX for over two years now. Things have worked out well. The inquiries are disappearing.
I have not done this - what is the approach???
I would freeze EQ and TU. EX looks quite good right now. EQ has the most INQ's.
Thanks!
Go to the website for each CRA and do a search for a freeze. Mine are ice frozen because I can't say stay away from that pretty "Apply" button. ![]()

For me, this would be the only realistic way for me to stop for a while. Or, stay off the forums.
Wow thats alot of apping.....STOP! lol
Does freezing your credit report raise a red flag with your current lenders?
I know Barclays will soft you the 1st 6 months if you have an account with them...will they red flag you? or closed your account?
I guess the question I have for anyone who freezes their CR is...have any lenders closed your account because of the freezed?
