Marriot Rewards Premier after CSP and Discover It

Two days ago I was approved for the Discover It (EQ 758) and the CSP, however I waited days for a reponse before they gave me a $16,000 CL. Anyway, I decided to app for one last card . . . The Marriot Rewards Premier. What is the likelihood of a successful app? I got the dreaded wait "for 7-10" further review e-mail just like I did with the CSP.

I didn't think of it ahead of time, but perhaps I made a huge mistake since they are both Chase cards? We travel a ton and my wife likes to stay at Marriots and occasionally the Ritz. Does this card work toward the Ritz? If it doesn't, I'm still pleased if awarded a CL, whatever it is.

My FAKO, per Capital One's Credit Tracker, just updated two days ago to 779.

Thanks,

-J.

Re: Marriot Rewards Premier after CSP and Discover It

I;d say your chance of approval is pretty good...

I got a 10k CSP in Oct 2013, then opened an instant 25k MArriot PR ( AMAZING black metal card!!) in January. My FICO for both approvals was like 680-700- not even as high as yours.

The sign up bonus now is 70k for 2k spend. I got 70k points after 1k spend though.

good luck!

Marriott PR$25k | BCE $24.5K |BankAmericard Visa $25k| BOA Better Bal $17.5k |Wmt Discover $12.5k | BR Visa $17.5k | Amex Delta Gold $10k | Discover IT $10k | Paypal Extras MC $15k | Amazon Store $10k|Smile Gen $7.25k | Dillard's $10k | West Elm $4k| Express $3.05K | Mypoints.com Visa $4.5k | Freedom Visa $1k| Amex Surpass $1k

70K? The best I could find was 50K. . . I'll keep you posted. They did this for the CSP. Although I did miss a few odd phone calls, they sent me an e-mail a week later saying I was good to go. . . But, since it is in the middle of the week, perhaps I'll hear sooner. Is Chase historically slow relative to other cards?

First, call or sedure message Chase and tell them you want the 70k offer. Historically they are pretty good with this kind of thing.

Also, you can earn Marriott points at Ritz so no biggie there.

Chase has always been extremely fast with my cards.

If you get approved, and the minute your account is posted online to your Chase account (it'll take about 3 days since your rewards number is lasered into the back of the card), send a SM asking to expidite the card, and to match the offer for this link (70,000 points for $1k spend).

Good luck!

Re: Marriot Rewards Premier after CSP and Discover It

Good Luck!  I got the marriott card in April and after $1K I got 70,000 points.  I would call chase and ask if they need to verify any information.  Thats what they needed to do for me, I got the same 7-10 day message, called them up and asked if they needed any verification, they asked for my address and DOB and came back with an instant approval after I verfied the info...which is wierd because I do have a freedom with them.  Good luck and keep us posted!

Re: Marriot Rewards Premier after CSP and Discover It

Called Chase numerous times to check the status via the automated service. Current status: Pending. Anyway, I called them and spoke briefly with a very nice lady. She verified my address and ssn, then pulled the application up. She said the application is still "pending" and told me to patiently wait. She didn't seem like a credit analyst or anything, instead, she seemed more broad spectrum customer service.

This is exactly what happened with the CSP. I received the same message, and everything, but I never received a call or income/verification request. Instead, they sent me a "Congrats" e-mail. . . I'm trying to give them everything they want, but I guess I'll take a step back and let them handle it. . .

I told the lady on the phone I made the mistake of apply for the CSP before the Marriot. She laughed and told me it shouldn't be a problem applying the way I did.

How can it take so long to look at someone's credit report?! LOL.

Are you calling this number: 888-245-0625 ?

That is the analyst# - give it a go and keep us posted.

Did you call directly into the credit analyst and try to have it prcoessed instantly now... I hate general numbers.

Re: Marriot Rewards Premier after CSP and Discover It

Called the number "Are you calling this number: 888-245-0625"  and spoke with a pseudonice lady. She was very monotone and unapproachable. Anyway, I asked her for the most up-to-date information concerning my application. She verified my address and ssn, but told me the application was still pending and to wait a few more days.

I thought SHE was the one to talk to? I'll continue to wait. . .  :/
