To the gurus out there with the Marriott Premier, if you signed up but did not link a Marriott Membership Number in the card application, how does the credit card handle this? Do they automatically create one for you? Would I still have to create a Marriott Membership for reasons that they are two seperate entities, etc. How does this work?
I'm wondering b/c I wanted to communicate on Marriott Insider forum but it prompted me to create a Marriott Rewards Membership. I don't want to create one and then my Premier Card comes in the mail with another account already made. Thanks!

Yes, if you do not have a membership number at the time of application, they will create one for you and it should be reflected on your card once it arrives. Problem is, it takes a few days longer to process as Chase has to wait until your Marriott membership # is created.

Thanks Yudeology! I wish I knew, I would have created the Membership first, then applied. I think you're right about the processing time as well, b/c even though Chase gave me an approval and credit limit, when I called Chase yesterday to ask them the same question I posted on here (which of couse they didn't have an answer!), the lady still saw a pending process despite my confirmations. Guess I'll be waiting for a while, thanks for the heads up!

Even when you provide your FF#, Chase has to confirm it's correct with the hotel/airline. So it holds up account creation either way!
