I tried to find info on this but I got nothing. For those of you that have the Marvel card, have you used it for iTunes? If so, did it count as Entertainment? According to their Terms and Conditions I believe iTunes would fall in the following categories:
Digital Entertainment, Games, and Software: Merchants that provide digital games and content for computers and mobile devices.
Music: Establishments that sell CDs and related items, including online records and digital music.
Thanks in advance for your responses.
This is an excellent question.
While we're at it, for those who have already had a statement (or two) to drop, how was Amazon treated? Did it code as a bookstore and earn 3% cash back?
Inquiring minds want to know...
I don't have iTunes but as you posted, the card terms specifically mention digital music so I am quite sure iTunes is under that category. Works fine for Amazon digital music pirchases

This has been mentioned before but I will remind the group...
merchant category code is determined by the card network, in this case MasterCard. As we have long known from the beloved Barclays Sallie Mae Rewards MC, physical purchases on Amazon (items either sold directly by, or at least fulfilled by Amazon) come up as Bookstore purchases for the MasterCard network.
Amazon Digital purchases, however, do not have the MCC of bookstore. I can't recall off the top of my head what the description of the category is but it does get the 3% cashback from this Marvel card so I can confirm those count as digital entertainment in some fashion.
I don't see why itunes wouldn't count. It's almost the exact definition of what's listed in the terms.
As for amazon, coding should be the same as any other Visa/MC and you should get 3%, but keep in mind there's plenty of ways to get 5% on amazon: the store card, Cash+, Discover and/or Freedom much of the year, etc. So if you're a big Amazon shopper, may not want to settle for 3%!

Thanks for the reminder to switch my iTunes billing to the Marvel card. :-) However, I usually buy iTunes GCs with Sallie Mae at the grocery store.
Thank you for your responses. I'm asking because I purchase from iTunes often and the movie theater I go to serves food but it's categorized by MCC as entertainment so not many cards out there that include this category. This card would be a great fit for me.

You're right, it's been mentioned before... but thanks for the reminder, anyway.
I brought up Amazon since if I recall correctly the language on the Marvel site previously specified "books and newsstands" which implies Amazon (with a bookstore MCC) should be covered. I was just wondering if anybody had actually 'seen' it work.
Like you mention, since Amazon digital purchase have a different MCC I would think they would be covered under 'digital entertainment' (if that's the MCC that's used). Thanks for confirming for us that you are seeing digital purchases from Amazon code correctly.
Ok guys. I went for it and was approved instantly. I don't know the SL or APR yet.
UPDATE: Approved for $4k at 15.24%. Will call Credit Solutions after I receive the card to request an increase.
