I'm waiting for Chase! In the last three (?) years I've had:
Capital One: CLD ($35K-$10K) Other card ($20K) closed for non-use
Citi: $25K DC closed for non-use
Amex: CLD ($35k-17.5k) for non-use.
But I've got a Chase Freedom Unlimited ($32K) unused for at least two years and it's still intact. Come on Chase, get with the program!

Sorry everyone on your clds. In some ways things like this just make us focus more on cards we should use more.
The weirdest part is Synchrony getting all the outrage "How dare they!!!!!!" while very little to none for Cap One.
Granted Cap One didn't close the accounts, they CLDed them, but we all know Cap One requires feeding them first born to get a CLI, so now those cards might as well be closed because they are useless for medium-large purchases, BTs, and certainly extra useless for utilization padding.
No one is going to run their QS into the ground for months to get CLI ...
Yeah this is true. I fully expect to see cld for my Sync cards soon but i take full responsibility and i know the possibility exists. One thing i always did was keep them as close to 0 or pif because i knew Sync was known to close in a heartbeat. After ridding myself of my $15k Walmart store card, im left with a C1 Wally Mc $1700 and i never get an increase. No way am i putting heavy spend on that, even if i could, to get a possible $100 lol

Excellent point as always, @AverageJoesCredit!
IMHO this isn't as bad as Synch, since these are only CLDs on little-used cards while Synch tends to close cards (and all of them at that). There's also more transparency here, since they're telling us up-front what the reason is and how far back they're looking (either one or two years).
Neither is ever fun, of course.
Yeah @UncleB good point as well. I like my Sync cards but even i know just closing everything with no actual lates, etc is bad juju. At least cut the lines first. Then if you see lates, then continue phase 2. Im sure their Ceo sees all the raw data from whats going on so maybe they see stuff we dont but either case no fun at all. Stay safe up there B just sittin here waiting for Laura

Send them SM and ask they get it over with.

"Dear LongTimeLurker
Thank you for your request to reduce the credit limit on your Chase Freedom Unlimited(TM) Visa Signature card 4147 2122 3232 3408.
Unfortunately, at this time we cannot grant your request for the following reason(s):
1) Spend on the card is too low over the last 6 months
2) Ratio of spend to credit limit too low
3) Lack of similar reductions reported by other creditors on your credit report.
I am sorry that we cannot fulfil you needs at this time, but please feel free to request again after 02/22/2021

One of my 3 CapOne cards got CLD yesterday from $6500 to $1500. That was a great birthday present to wake up to. I should have spread out the spending for the new house more evenly between the 3 I guess. I think the other two may get left alone for now as I did large purchases on them for a couple months.
These are my oldest 3 cards or I would have closed one or two of them already. I'm guessing the next time they do a major round of evaluations the other two will likely get cut as I am putting all non-category spend on the PayPal MC now. As long as they don't get closed I'm fine with it. I don't need the util padding.
