Glad to hear that there was some success on that front - fingers crossed🤞. I remember having a similar issue with a linked eBay MC on one of my PayPal profiles and it finally was resolved after a couple of attempts. Which method did you get it to work on the last attempt, contacting SYNCB or PayPal chat or...? I recall mine was escalated to a supervisor who was able to fix it.

Thanks! I think the last call with PayPal is what gave me the most help - they explained the "on hold" part again but when I mentioned that my PayPal Credit account was de-linked properly (marked "inactive" instead of "on hold"), it finally clicked that Synchrony was able to de-link that account but not the CashBack MasterCard account. So then PayPal sent email over one more time to Synchrony and the customer service rep did exactly what was needed.
So basically I had to make repeated calls to both companies to finally correctly explain my situation. It was getting pretty dire though since in previous calls, PayPal said they couldn't remove it from my wallet because the account was "on hold," while Synchrony said the account was closed and that they could not access my PayPal wallet, and so on an so forth.
First time using these forums, found this thread after ALL of my synchrony cards were closed. The info I recieved is as follows:
After a review of your account, Synchrony Bank has decided to close your account.
The reason(s) for our decision are listed below:
● Activity on account(s) with Synchrony Bank indicative of high risk of failure to pay
TJ Max - 2100
Sams Club -10000
Crate & Barrel 1200
Art Van - 12000
Husquvarna - 12000
Rakuten - 2000
Amazon - 6000
= 45,300
My usage on these cards is <10%, and I pay off the card to 0 once it reports to the bureaus. If there is a interest deferred payment plan on a card, Im using it. My utilization on my entire line of credit is around 4%, so Im not sure exactly why this is happening. I would use the Sams club one whenever I went to sams and filled up with gas. Anyone have any luck on reinstating any cards from synchrony? Ironically, I found out about this yesterday, and before they were able to hit my credit, I applied for an Amex and got a 4k credit line!
Theres no logic dont try i had 55000 avail credit with no balances at all dont try to understand thell just send a compuuter reply

Unfortunately, once the accounts are closed they cannot be reinstated. You can, however, reapply after 30 days (post-closure) if there was a specific CC you wanted to have again. That said, there'll be a HP (possibly 2), a new account on your CRs, and no guarantee on whether they'll close it again.
IMO, let things settle, PIF any remaining balances and regroup to determine your options down the road.
I had all Sync cards closed - all in good standing several 3+ years old....
I was shopping for a bed and tried to apply for Sleep Number. Instant decline no inquiry.
Letter said due to recent closed Sync accounts.
I called and was transfered and transfered and told to fax a request for more info.
End result they sent me a canned letter on my Amazon account that a transaction could be decliened if over my limit. Not applicable never over limit...
Just wondering if anyone figured this out or if I should write off Sync forever.
Decided against sleep number and bought tempurpedic - instant approval through Wells Fargo.
IDK I just want to understand in case in the future we do want to apply for a Sync Card.

Sorry to hear about the closures. It's never pleasant having to find out this kind of Adverse Action.
What did the letters state as far as the reasons for the closures? How many SYNCB accounts and what was the aggregate CLs?
As far as re-establishing a relationship with SYNCB, I'd wait a while if I were in your shoes, especially since they closed all CCs vs. leaving some open. Anything beyond 60-90 days *might* be safe territory. If you do, baby steps in acquiring any of them.
I never did receive any letter from Sync explaining anything at all.
Recently I received a letter from Sync regarding my Amazon account which was closed.
It said the reason you may have had a purchase declined if you were over your limit.
Well I wasn't even near 20% utilization and never had a decline.
Again so be it, I don't NEED sync but it would be nice to know how to get back in if I want to in the future.
My accounts were closed end of June. I applied for Sleep Number in October more than 3 months so I'm still on their hate list.
Even though they closed my accounts months ago I had an instant decline for Sleep Number stating "recently closed Sync account".
Hello first do not think of why its all computer generated theres no logic had my 55000 all closed reason was wont pay back if i use them lollll nu logic at all so dont think of the reason its just tu get ya off there backs
Hi Guys/Gals,
It has been a while since I have posted on here. I know synchrony is infamous for random CLDs and account closures. I recently used my PayPal mastercard to get a drink at the gas station to keep the card active. I logged in to pay and both my master card ($10k) and my paypal credit ($6.8k) have been closed. I have not gotten a letter in the mail yet and when I called credit solutions they said that I would receive a letter in the mail. No balances, no derogatories, always pay in full, etc. Oddly, I just received the updated World card last month. What in the world is going on? I'll be sure to update when I get the letter.
