Received credit alert earlier today on Sync lowering the credit limit of my JCPenney card from $10k to $500. I honestly don't remember the last time I used the card so no surprise really. I will use it for a small charge soon since it's tied for my oldest card I have in my portfolio and would like to keep it open as long as I can
That's the typical inactivity CLD @simplynoir. Use the CC for something nominal, PIF, and then reach out the Credit Solutions team to see about restoring the CL (or at least something reasonable).
@FinStar I'm actually not interested in getting the limit restored as long as the card stays open. Care more about the AoOA than anything else. Dunno when I last walked into a JCPenney assuming the one local here is still open
Any idea how long you can have inactivity before closure?

It appears a variety of their CCs are now closing within a 6 month timeframe of inactivity, at least from DPs on this thread (besides the other mass closures). That CLD is definitely a sign that it *could* be closed if no action is taken (we just don't know when), especially if you haven't used in ~12 months. Just order something that you might use (online) to generate some activity, perhaps a GC to use in the future.

And, sadly, no 🦦🦦🦦 garanimals either 🥺
I called Synchrony and they told me this is due to CLI request. and there is no way to re-open to the accounts even some of them. so I wonder if someone in this situation has already tried any options to get the accounts reopened by any chance?

There's unfortunately no way to get them to reverse their decision.

Correct. SYNCB and Comenity Bank pretty much share the same (unfortunate) results with regard to [AA] account closures - decisions are irreversible.
@Anonymous - if you want to potentially re-establish the SYNCB relationship, you'd have to reapply. Let the dust settle and give it about 60-90 days if you wish to do so. But, I would recommend being selective on the account choices and definitely no frequent CLI requests.
This is the point exactly. With Synchrony it has to be limited number of accounts/Credit Cards Say 3 to 4 and not too many CLIs. of course it does not guarrantee to protect your account with them since they have some made-up rules that are not necessarity the business best practice at all, so they might come up with something new to close the accounts.
