I received my Max Cash Preferred today. The Schumer Box shows only a 16.99% purchase APR; the targeted mailer I received from my bank specified 15 months @ 0% on purchases. This was the same deal when I opened Fidelity, and confirmed that the Fidleity Schumer Box explicitly stated the 0%.
Called Elan, waited a good while. Initial rep confirmed that it should be 0%. Kicked me to a supervisor. Supervisor also said it should be 0%. Gave some convoluted explanation about purchases coding at 0% that didn't really make any sense. He didn't sound too convinced of it himself. He said he's submit an inquiry about this.
I'll keep an eye on statements to see what happens. Wasn't planning to carry a balance on this, but nice to have the option. Definitely won't try to carry one until I get a statement confirming 0%.
