Max Venmo CL?

Requested a cli over the phone last night after 6 months of having the card. Asked for 10k and was offered 8.5 which i took so a 3k increase. Figured it was due to short history with the card and being my only synch account. Got this letter in my email tonight, are there any dp's to say the venmo card has a max credit limit?

Re: Max Venmo CL?

There's been reported DPs where they can go as high as $30K (or slightly above). @SunriseEarth was approved for $30K some time ago.

As far as your specific limit @Wrigley2172, this may depend on several factors: the most recent CLI request (as applicable), your account performance (usage, payment history, etc), internal behavioral score, your reported income to SYNCB, overall exposure with SYNCB (and elsewhere), and/or time.

The limit on mine is $8,550 so it's just slightly above that one. I'd say that's for your specific limit.

Makes sense, i thought it might be more "me" specific but the way they chose to word it made it seem more broad. Ive put decent spend through the card as i have double rewards through the end of the year so its been a base 2% card up to 6% in my top category so ive been using it for almost everything. Good to know theres more room to grow, thanks Fin!

Anytime.

Just keep doing what you're doing and give things time. Try again in another 4-6 months (the longer the better), and see whether you can obtain another one (if you feel there's a need based on how much you use the account).

The good thing, while it was only a partial increase, it wasn't denied altogether 👍

Re: Max Venmo CL?

They started me at 8k and after 12 mos auto CLI to 15k -- I asked for CLI by auto-phone at 6 and 9 mos and got the "insufficient time at current credit limit" letter.

Re: Max Venmo CL?

You can most likely request more than that, based on the denial reason by Synchrony. On your next attempt, call credit solutions instead. This was happening with my PayPal MC until someone here pointed it out. I thought I was stuck at 10K but was able to get it to 20K after a week of receiving the letter (I specifically requested for 20K)@Wrigley2172
