Hi all! I was just recently approved for the Amex Platinum and CSP in a simulataneous mini app spree. I'm a flight attendant for one of the U.S. big 3 airlines, so I can, theoretically, go anywhere for nothing. We do have an option to fly on a confirmed ticket for a reduced price on my airline and that shows up as a direct airline purchase. I'm a flight attendant, so I'm staying in a hotel at least twice a week. The kicker is, the company books the hotel, so depending on where we are I can *only sometimes* get credit for a night. I can get points if I have incidentals charged to my room / card.
Just curious how other airline employees, specifically onboard crew, are maximizing benefits. Clearly the platinum allows access to lounges. But, are you foregoing the Hunger Games of flying non-rev standby and using your points to book flights or are you using for rooms when you non-rev somewhere?
ETA: do you have a card with benefits for an airline other than your own? Let's say you work for United, do you have a Citi AA card or an Amex Delta card?
