Previously the ability to mention/tag another member was only for Community Leaders, Mods/Admins, and those who were at the rank of Senior Contributor or higher. The myFICO admins have now added the ability to @mention someone to the entire community.
To use the feature, simply press the @ key then start typing the member's user name and users matching those letters should populate. If you're replying to a thread, when you press @ the pre-populated list will show names of members who have already posted in the thread, making it quick and easy to select them. Tagging someone in this way will cause an automated email notification to be sent to the member being mentioned.
You can also link to a myFICO product by pressing the # key. The options are FICO Advanced, FICO Premier, FICO Basic, FICO Family Advanced. (Simply start typing the word FICO and the choices will be visible.)
If you would like to not receive email notifications when you're @mentioned by someone, you can turn off the notifications in your settings... it's under 'Subscriptions & Notifications'----> 'Notification Settings' (second from the bottom, be sure to click 'save'). You can also click here to jump directly to the page.
Please enjoy this new feature, and remember to use it judiciously. It is a great way to bring someone's attention to a thread they might otherwise not see, and it's quite a bit faster and easier than sending a PM with a link.

I don't think I've ever been tagged as many times in the last 2 years as I have today.
